Madden Was Right: Giants Defeat Patriots
That's seven correct predictions out of nine attempts.
The Madden NFL 12 Super Bowl XLVI simulation has picked a winner, with the New York Giants defeating the New England Patriots in a gripping 21-17 win.
EA's simulation didn't pick the final score, which had the Giants as 27-24 victors thanks to a last minute field goal, but it did correctly name Eli Manning as Super Bowl MVP.
Since 2004 EA has run a yearly simulation of the Super Bowl. The Madden series has now correctly predicted the winner seven times out of nine attempts. Last year it incorrectly picked the Steelers to trump the Packers and in 2008, the last time the Patriots and Giants met in the final showdown, it wrongly predicted the Patriots would take the win.
Seems it's learning from its mistakes. Like Skynet.
