'East of Salinas': How a farmworkers' son grew up to teach farmworkers' kids Published Dec 21, 2015 03:34 pm The new documentary film East of Salinas tells the story of Oscar Ramos, the son of farmworkers who graduated from Berkeley and, as a third-grade teacher in Salinas, is making a difference with the youngsters growing up in farmworker families. The film airs at 10 p.m. on Monday, Dec. 28, on many PBS stations nationwide; in the Bay Area, KQED plans to air it on Jan. 18. | ||
