Carolina Panthers change logo for the first time in team history

Carolina Panthers
The Carolina Panthers have updated their logo from a roaring panther showing his teeth to ... a roaring panther showing his teeth. OK, so the changes are subtle, but the team feels they help convey "a more aggressive, contemporary look."
That's the new panther above; the one that has been used since the team came into the league in 1995 is below. See, not a huge difference. But that's the point, team president Danny Morrison said.
"We have one of the finest and most recognizable logos in the NFL and wanted to make it as modern as possible without losing the dramatic essence of the mark," Morrison said.
In the new logo, the panther image is visually connected to the team's logotype, which has also been updated (the old one is also shown below).
According to the team's website, the new font was "inspired by the swift, sleek nature of a panther." The letter "a" in "Panthers" features a three-stripe element that is supposed to suggest the swipe of a panther.
Panther_77"It is a cleaner style that is easier to read and should be more applicable to different uses," Morrison said.
Words_77On the field in 2011, the Panthers improved greatly, with first-year quarterback Cam Newton leading the team to a 6-10 record a year after the team finished with a league-worst 2-14 mark.
